EDUCATION

EDUCATION

Changing pedagogical approaches as a result of developing technology create opportunities for new learning methods and accelerate the change towards student-oriented, active learning areas. The mixed learning approach consisting of online education tools and face-to-face learning methods has created a need for furniture that is learner-oriented, adaptable to various usage scenarios, compatible with technology and convertible.

As Bürotime, we offer effective solutions that will turn every corner of the schools into a learning place with our designs inspired by active learning approaches that do not confine education only into defined spaces.

Classrooms

One of the most important criteria in classrooms that need to be developed in accordance with different learning and teaching techniques is that they should have such a mobility that will provide solutions to ad hoc needs. Classrooms should be able to serve different teaching methods from classic teaching to differentiated teaching through project, joint study, discussion group, etc. It should be designed in accordance with the identity and purpose of the school and should be flexible enough to provide solutions to changing needs when necessary.

Bürotime empowers you to create dynamic learning areas with educational products that are flexible, have high adaption capability, can be rearranged for various events, and can be modified with various functions, in all new generation classrooms from elementary school classrooms to university lecture rooms, and from laboratories to active learning-study areas.

Independent Working Areas

The widespread use of technology has liberated the areas of teaching. It is now possible to turn every corner of a school into a learning area thanks to the advanced technology. This causes the today’s understanding of teaching area to be more associated with spaces that conform to less traditional definitions. “New generation teaching room” now means the use of any available areas within or around the campus for different educational activities. Any area, where there is internet access, and students can come together around a table, develop and discuss their own projects, can be a potential learning space

Libraries should be perceived not only as the place where students have access to information, but also as the place where effective communication occurs through social activities.

Social Areas

Researches on the positive effects of the circular relationship between pedagogy, space and technology concepts on students’ success emphasises the need for learner-oriented, technology-assisted, experience-oriented teaching and learning spaces that allow students work individually or as a group, and integrates with changing functions. For this reason, the concept of “learning space” emphasises that learning is not an activity that is held in classrooms between certain hours, but also continues in common places and social areas such as foyers, corridors and cafés.

Any place that has access to the internet and new technologies, and has the allows people to work individually or as a group to create projects is considered as a potential learning place.

Dormitories

The concept of dormitory is generally a type of structure that aims to solve the housing problem of students. However, changing and developing living conditions, and the needs and expectations of the new generation compel the dormitories to improve its functionality beyond a place merely providing a shelter.

Dormitory rooms should be designed in a way to allow the students to meet their basic needs, fell themselves at home, feel secure while studying or relaxing and personalise the areas they use without ignoring the fact that they are young and active people starting their own life. This will also directly affect the quality of teaching.
